Just Cuts Ormiston salon Grand Opening on March 25

Flat Bush residents of all ages looking for a quick trim or the latest hairstyles can soon visit the new Just Cuts Ormiston salon, opening to clients on March 25th in the brand new Ormiston Town Centre.

Just Cuts Ormiston will offer Style Cuts at $20 (normally $34) for the first 6 weeks in business.

After over a decade working as a Stylist in London and Auckland Just Cuts salons, Papatoetoe resident Cham Sokhon says he’s excited to begin his own small business in the new development.

“It’s been a long journey to get here,” says Cham. “Working as a stylist during COVID has been a learning experience for me but I’m proud to be on the verge of opening my own salon this month.”

Cham says the Just Cuts system and his team members will minimise the impact of the pandemic on his new clients and business, which will observe social distancing and use regular sanitisation.

“Our no appointments, just come in system means clients can check in on our Just Cuts app and reserve a spot in the queue, we’ll send a text to let them know when they’re next in line.”

Cham says the lockdown experience hasn’t reduced the demand for hairdressers.

“You can’t get you hair cut online,” says Cham. “Before every lockdown I’ve seen a spike in clients wanting to get a Style Cut before we close, and then we see a spike just after lockdown.”

Just Cuts only employ fully qualified hairdressers, and Cham is excited to grow his Ormiston team.

“We cut hair for all ages and styles, it’s a skill only fully qualified Stylists have,” says Cham. “Understanding what a client wants, having the skills to deliver it and managing kids is important.”

“We have DVDs and lollipops, plus we know how to reassure nervous kids – and their parents.”

“I have a 4 month old son, Victor, and I want to bring him into my salon for his first Style Cut soon.”

“I’ve worked on a salon floor so I’ve walked in a Stylist’s shoes, I’ll be involved in all aspects of my business. I want to inspire my team so they can work their way up to own their own salon one day.”

Just Cuts Ormiston Style Cuts are $34, even if you have your hair completely re-styled. The salon will also offer custom pricing for seniors, students and children on selected weekdays.

Cham says Just Cuts focus on safe hygiene practices and delivering quality Style Cuts for clients.

“A Just Cuts app is available for clients who would like to check into the queue before entering the salon, and my team and I can’t wait to meet everyone from 9am on Grand Opening day, March 25.”

More about Just Cuts

Just Cuts is an Australian hairdressing franchise that bridges the gap between a barber and a high end hair salon. With salons in every state of Australia, on both the North and South islands New Zealand and the United Kingdom, it is the largest hairdressing company in the Southern Hemisphere. Based on a fixed price, no appointment system, Just Cuts offers clients affordable haircuts from fully qualified hairdressers and performs over 100,000 Style Cut cuts per week across Australia, New Zealand and the United Kingdom.

Celebrating 30 years in 2020, Just Cuts was the brainchild of Denis McFadden, who turned a simple idea into a business concept that would change the hairdressing industry forever. McFadden ran his first ever “no appointment, $6 Style Cut” promotion at his humble Sydney salon, receiving an outstanding response from clients. It was on this basic fixed price initiative that the idea of Just Cuts was born. The following year, the inaugural Just Cuts salon opened its door to the public. And in 1990, the first Just Cuts franchise opened in the suburb of Engadine, in the south of Sydney, New South Wales. Our brand has continued to expand ever since, with over 220 locations across Australia, New Zealand and the United Kingdom.

In 2013, Just Cuts launched JUSTICE Professional – a range of salon quality haircare and styling products available exclusively in all our salons at a competitive, affordable price. The JUSTICE Professional line has something for everyone, including everyday shampoos and conditioners, anti-dandruff and dry scalp treatments, toning products, nourishing leave-in treatments and a range of hair styling waxes and sprays.
