It’s been an incredibly busy year for Just Cuts and JUSTICE Professional, with so many exciting events, celebrations and business updates taking place in just 12 months. We’re thrilled that we were able to share these milestones with the Franchise Owners of our 205 salons across Australia and New Zealand. We couldn’t have it done it without them!
This year, we celebrated 27 years in franchising and the Grand Opening of the 200th Just Cuts salon in Mandurah, Western Australia. While almost 30 years, 3,984km and 199 other salons separated this salon from the first ever Just Cuts opening in Engadine, Sydney, it’s the same systems and processes that were put in place when we were founded in 1990 that have helped us become the largest hairdressing company in the southern hemisphere today.
And to help service this ever-expanding network of salons, Franchise Owners, Stylists and Clients, in May we opened the doors to our brand new JUSTICE Professional warehouse and international distribution centre in Caringbah, Sydney. This $3 million, 400-pallet capacity warehouse helped us grow the buying power for our salons across Australia and New Zealand overnight, exponentially increasing the quality and value for the entire Just Cuts community.
While we’re all about being the biggest brand, we’re also set on being the best. That’s why we launched the new and improved Client-facing Just Cuts mobile app last month, available on the App Store now. Our Clients can now locate their nearest salons, view their wait times and check-in to the queue of their desired location, all in just a few taps! The app also includes our new Just You Loyalty Club program, allowing Clients to accumulate points at every visit and giving them access to member-only perks and discounts.
To cap off an already extraordinary year, just last month we opened the doors to our latest innovation – the Just Cuts Style Bar concession salon in Myer at Westfield Fountain Gate, Victoria. This new salon concept is based on our core business model with no appointments, fixed pricing and services delivered by fully qualified hair Stylists only. However, we’re now thrilled to offer our Clients another level of service with basic hair styling and the added convenience of being located on the retail floor inside Myer, allowing Clients to pop in for a Style Cut, style or to pick up their favourite JUSTICE Professional hair products while running other errands in the store.
As a company, we feel it’s our responsibility to give back to local causes that make a real difference to the community. This year, our salons, Clients and Academy Head Office raised $33,500 for the Royal Flying Doctor Service of Australia, who provide primary health care and 24-hour emergency services to people in rural and remote Australia. We’ve proudly supported the charity for 19 years and look forward to many more years of partnership with them.
On top of these major projects, we welcomed 15 new Franchise Owners to our community and celebrated eight of our existing Franchisees celebrated becoming multi-salon Owners. So, as you can see, it’s been a very busy year!
